Baptism by Fire

Introduction:

A small game made in just under a month for Boss Rush Jam 2025! Submission build only has 2 bosses, unfortunately - we had initially planned for a third, which we might add later.

The shrine is under attack by strange eldritch abominations, and it's up to you as a high-schooler-slash-part-time-shrine-maiden to get in a lethal humanoid robot and fight them off. Sure, the enemies might be strange and unfathomable, but you have the power of god(s) and anime mecha on your side.

With the power of prayers, you can overcome any adversity - if you're able to deal with the whims of the divine.

Game Flow:

Build a wheel, fight a boss, repeat. Once you're in the battle, spin the wheel, and try your best to land on a segment that you want!

Decide how much Faith you have each turn - the more Faith you have, the faster your wheel spins, and the more damage you do.

Controls:

Bottom left slider adjusts your Faith.

Left button starts/stops the wheel.

Right button launches the attack.

Any text that is green is typically clickable.

Mouseover buff/debuff icons to get hints about what they do.

The display at the top of your cockpit shows the boss' next action. Red = Attack, Yellow = Support, Green = Healing.

Stats:

Strength: Increases damage dealt in a linear fashion.

Faith: The speed at which your wheel spins. The higher it is, the faster it spins, and the more damage your attacks deal.

Handling: Increases damage dealt in a multiplicative fashion. It's applied as a multiplier, with diminishing returns. 

- Handling is calculated based on unique segments in your wheel: You get 1 Handling per wheel segment that is not adjacent to a segment of the same type (color). Note that you will do no damage if you have 0 Handling.

Shield: Extra Temporary HP beyond your maximum.
